De Ereprijs (1)

For more than 40 years, Orkest De Ereprijs has been the ensemble for new music in the east of the Netherlands. As an 'instrument for living composers', Orchestra De Ereprijs commissions composers for compositions that the orchestra performs itself. In the afternoon the orchestra will perform new work for barrel organ with compositions by Danny de Graan, Nicoline Soeter, Niko Schroeder and Erik de Clercq.

Orchestra De Ereprijs knows how to surprise the audience with its own timbre. The orchestra has a permanent line-up of 14 musicians with two flutes, clarinet/bass clarinet, two saxophones, trumpet, two trombones, horn, tuba, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano and percussion (classical, modern, drums). This allows the orchestra to meet the often specific wishes of contemporary composers.
